Despite our editorial process and fact-checking standards, errors can still happen. When they do, our goal is to fix them quickly, disclose the change where it matters, and learn from why it happened in the first place.

How to Report an Error

If you spot something that looks wrong, use the form at the bottom of this page or email us directly. To help us investigate quickly, please include:

• The link to the specific article
• What you believe is incorrect, and why
• A source, if you have one, that supports the correction

What Happens After You Report

Every report is reviewed against the original sources cited in the article, and against any new source you’ve provided. If the report is verified, we correct the article according to its classification above. If we don’t find enough basis to make a change, we’ll let you know why.

How Corrections Are Displayed

Substantive and major corrections are noted directly on the article, typically at the bottom, so returning readers can see that something changed and why.

Corrections vs. Routine Updates

Not every edit is a correction. Articles are also refreshed on a recurring schedule as part of our normal Editorial Process — updating statistics, reflecting new research, or improving clarity. Routine updates are reflected in the “last updated” date; corrections to actual errors get the visible note described above.
